User Roles & Permissions

Every member of a HiveCare organization has a role, and roles control what they can see and do.

The Administrator role

Every organization has one protected role called Administrator. Whoever holds it can:

  • Invite, manage, and remove team members
  • Assign and change roles
  • View Audit Records
  • Manage organization-wide settings and billing

The Administrator role can’t be renamed or deleted, and HiveCare always requires at least one active Administrator per organization — you can’t remove or demote the last one.

Custom roles

Beyond Administrator, your organization can create its own custom roles (for example, “Supervisor” or “Staff”) tailored to how your team works. Custom roles are created and managed from Team Management by an Administrator.

Assigning roles

  1. Go to Team Management.
  2. Select a member.
  3. Choose their role from the list, or create a new one if you need different permissions than what already exists.

If you don’t see something you expect

If a menu item or feature described elsewhere in this Help Center isn’t visible to you, it’s most likely gated by your current role. Ask your organization’s administrator whether your role should have access.
